Music & Visuals as an Act of Peace: Contemporary contemplative urban jazz created and performed by flutist/composer, Yael Acher “KAT” Modiano’s ensemble is presented in dialogue with screenings/projections and exhibition of works by Janine Sopp, Brooklyn-based ceramic artist and owner of ClaySpace ceramic center. “KAT” Modiano features Charenée Wade (vocals), Jason Yeager (keyboard), Dezron Douglas (bass), Norman Edward Jr. (drums).

This Palestinian-Israeli collaboration unites music and visual art as a foundation for unity.

PAMAR’s 20th annual Latin American Cultural Week is excited to present the award-winning flutist/composer Yael “KAT” Acher and guitarist Baran Guzelsoy. The duo takes the audience on a colorful journey through classical and contemporary South American masterpieces by A. Piazzolla, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Leo Brouwer, José White, Dilermando Reis, Barrios Mangore, Jorge Morel. Including also premiere of Yael Acher-Modiano’s piece. The concert is dedicated to Peace, Human-Rights and Animal-Rights.

Flutist Yael “KAT” Modiano Acher and composer/pianist David Haney have recorded a special performance using the world-renowned Great Stalacpipe Organ, located deep within Luray Caverns. The unique session, which took place on July 14, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., captures a one-of-a-kind collaboration between the flute and the natural acoustics of the caverns.

The Great Stalacpipe Organ, conceived by Leland W. Sprinkle, creates its sound by using mallets to tap on ancient stalactites, which produce varying tones. This rare instrument provided a dramatic and resonant backdrop for Modiano Acher’s flute performance. The recording was produced by Yael “KAT” Modiano Acher, Patrick Hinely, and David Haney for Cadence Media.

“A Night at La Nacional,” the monthly film/arts, poety, performance, and live music event launched in April at the Spanish Benevolent Society’s landmark home on Manhattan’s West 14th Street and drawing diverse creative communities to its salon ambience, returns on Tuesday June 24th with a 1925-dress code event and a display of Spanish film and arts to celebrate a century of the move to its permament home. Daily News dubbed La Nacional “a hidden gem,” the last remnant of Manhattan’s “Little Spain” and one of the city’s oldest non-profits. We celebrate the milestone with a night of works by distinguished women from Spain’s new generation.
