Celebrating International Women’s Day, Kvinde I Music invited Yael Acher “KAT” Modiano to perform her multimedia Flute Soundscapes. Merging her flute & effects or acoustic flute with prepared- electronic tracks and video screenings, Modiano creates a versatile palate of sound and performance expressions, inspired by eclecticism and improvisations.
This special afternoon show that features different female artists takes place at the beautiful stage at the historical women’s building Hotel Cecile in the heart of Copenhagen (former Cph Jazzhouse).
‘Flute in Film’ – Contemporary, Soundtracks, Bach, and Masks

An eclectic program including: Acher-Modiano’s original electro-acoustic and acoustic flute compositions, image-collage video, live contemporary soundtracks to short silent film screening, and pieces by J.S. Bach.

In this program Acher-Modiano will explores Contemporary Improvisations / Composition on Motif with focus on themes such as: extended sonorities, sound/noise, tonality/atonality, polyrhythm, primal ritualistic rhythms and sounds, eclectic sources, composition on motifs, and multimedia (screenings of image-collage and clips from soundtracks/film scores).
‘French for Flute and Organ’

This program will feature pieces by French composers from the middle of the 1900s, and Acher-Modiano’s solo flute composition inspired by the French modern pieces.
Modiano’s 2 new soundtracks (composed 2021) to French short comedy silent films: “La pile électrique de Léontine” (1910) and “Léontine enfant terrible” (1911) included in a 4-disc DVD/Blu-ray set featuring rarely-seen silent films about feminist protest, anarchic slapstick destruction, and suggestive gender play.
