Reflets du silence
“Reflets du Silence” is a female ensemble that blends the expressive power of poetry with the rich sounds of flute, cello, piano, voice, and percussion. The group creates a unique auditory experience, weaving together spoken word and music to evoke deep emotion and reflection. Their performances are a celebration of silence and sound, exploring the spaces between words and notes with artistic depth and nuance.

The international NYC based award winning artists take the audience on a journey through colorful soundscapes of Classical Cuban music with special Flute & Bass renditions of pieces by Jose White, Cirilo Villaverde, Manuel Saumell, Ernesto Lecuona, Leo Brower and Ignacio Cervantes, as well as an origianl piece by Yael Acher-Modiano. Honoring the legacy of St Frances Cabrini, the program also includes a Neapolitan song. The artists dedicate the concert to Peace, Human-Rights and Animal-Rights.

Flute Soundscapes takes the audience on a journey through different eras of Western classical music aesthetics. The program encompasses pieces by J.S. Bach, C. Debussy, A. Piazzolla, and Acher-Modiano’s original acoustic and electro-acoustic contemporary pieces with video screening and masks. Modiano’s video accompanies the music with a non-narrative colourful collage of images that often refer to social awareness.

In this program Acher-Modiano will explores Contemporary Improvisations / Composition on Motif with focus on themes such as: extended sonorities, sound/noise, tonality/atonality, polyrhythm, primal ritualistic rhythms and sounds, eclectic sources, composition on motifs, and multimedia (screenings of image-collage and clips from soundtracks/film scores).
